What its all about...

As a fan of table top Role Playing Games, and Video Games, not to mention anime I once had a web site that I devoted to creating conversions of the things I liked to a particular game system or another.

Well I'm back and its time to get back to posting and talking about the things I like with others.

Video Games: I will be trying to write reviews for games I play and may even work out conversions of games to table top RPG's for gamers to enjoy, or at least I will give a guiding hand rather than doing all the work myself. Unfortunately the only game system I own is an X-Box 360, and my computer which kind of limits what I can do. Unless some kind soul wants to buy me an X-Box One. :)

Table Top RPG's: I play a few different table top games along with my friends. Sometimes I will write about a game system I have read up on or tried out, and may write up a conversion for agame system. Game systems I typically play are - Hero System (Champions, Fantasy Hero); Star Wars (Fantasy Flight Version, Saga Edition); Savage Worlds, D&D (3.5 Edition, 5th Edition); Pathfinder, and possibly others in the future.

But I look forward to providing folks with some entertainment and to get some discussions going on things I may post (but please keep it civil).

Also please feel free to click on any ads that are on my blog here, doing so really helps me out.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Hi folks, so this month just hasn't been good for finding time to work on anything...or even play games.  This semester in college I'm taking Math 65.  Now for the first several weeks we had to do work for chapters 4 & 5 in our "Introductory Algebra" book.  This was more than just reading, and then hopping online to take a quiz and post a problem from the book that we solved.

To give you an idea of the workload for our "handwritten" part of the work, here is the first week.

--Lesson 1--
(EOO = Every Other Odd)
Chapter 4

  • Section 4.1 read pages 288-296; do vocab check 1-4; do exercises 1-49 eoo, 51,53, 63-71 odd
  • Section 4.2 read pages 300-305; do vocab check1-5; do exercises 1-33 odd, 45, 49, 55, 57
  • Section 4.1 Supplement #1 worksheet

--Lesson 2--
(EOO = Every Other Odd)
Chapter 4

  • Section 4.3 read pages 309-316; do vocab check 1-4; do exercises 1-55 eoo, 57, 61, 63, 73
  • Mid-chapter check point: do exercises 1-14 all
There is also 4 videos, each about an hour long that you have to watch (the lecture), a discussion post problem you have to do, and of course a quiz.

It's a lot of work for one week.  And it doesn't account for other classes, having a life, having a family, having a job, and so forth.

Now the odd thing is that I spent my 4th week making up all the math work I was behind, and didn't do any of the work for this week that was in addition to the in-class test we had to take.

Turns out that when I turned in what I had done, I still got full marks for the work.  I was still missing portions of what was needed for week 3.  That stuff happened to include a review of both chapters 4 & 5. Chapter 4 had 50 problems for the first review, and 1-8 (all), 14-68 (all), 73-86 (all) for the chapter 5 review.

Then there were the tests.  I did the chapter 4 test (15 questions).  But chapter 5 required  1, 2, 3, 5-17 all, 19-26 all.

Least to say that at this juncture I'm not really sure how to feel about the coming weeks for the handwritten book work, or if its necessary to do this weeks stuff.  At least from this point on it looks as if the lessons are a little more reigned in.

BUT - onward to what I got cooking:

Currently I have something in the ways of an anime-ninja class in the works for D&D 5th edition.  IT will work in line with the Martial Warrior character class I created.  And speaking of, I am in the midst of revising that class.  Aside from some grammar problems (that I kick myself for missing), I am working on improving the power and balance of the class.  I'll be adding a few new things and changing how some things work, not to mention a revised table that will accurately display progression.

It's possible that I may be over-powering it, but I'm certain that folks will let me know if that's an issue and if it needs to be reigned in, in places.  Monday is the day I hope to finally have the revision posted...assuming I can find the time.

Well that's all for now for this update.  I kind of wish I could let folks know about my homebrew project, but with everything else going on there just hasn't been any time for it.
